Do You Need a Speaker?
I've begun speaking to a variety of groups around Iowa. From
women's groups to business and community groups, I've been asked to
add my brand of wisdom or expertise and I have been grateful for the
opportunity to meet new people and to stretch my horizons.
Speaking experiences:
- MOPS: Alta and Spencer
- Kiwanis Clubs
- BPW (Business and Professional Women)
- Television News shows:
KCAU, KTIV (Sioux
City)
WOI, KCCI (Des Moines)
- Radio Talk Shows:
New Life Lunch Café - KWKY
1150 am (Des Moines)
Walt Bodine Show - KCUR 89.5
fm (Kansas City)
- Lutheran Women at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aurelia
- Congregational Church women’s annual Valentine Tea
Topics:
- Time Management
- The Life of a Writer
- The Road to getting a book published
- Parenting & Marriage Tips
- Ministry, not a job but a lifestyle. This topic covers why I
believe that the Great Commission applies to everyone, not just
seminary graduates.
- Love from God’s Perspective
I enjoy the opportunity to meet people, to share my off-beat
brand of wisdom, and to bring a little of the Lord’s love into their
lives. My fee is based on distance traveled and cost of lodging as
well as an opportunity to present my books and CDs for sale to the
people in my audience.
Review:
I heard your time management presentation at
the Cherokee BPW WOMENomics Forum, and I want to thank you! Even
though I already carry a planner, make lists and manage my time
pretty well, it was so good to hear you reinforce my time management
"instincts." (Although "instincts" seems to imply that we are all
supposed to be this busy!?!) And when you recommended planning meals
two weeks in advance, I thought, why haven't I tried that? So I did!
And 9 days into the first menu plan, I felt compelled to thank you
for the tip! It is such a relief to go to the store and just buy
what is on the list, knowing somewhere is a carefully crafted plan
to make it all useful food. Then, when I get home after work, I
don't have to stand with my head in the freezer wondering what to do
next. I just cook whatever I wrote on the menu. And everybody is
happy to have a hot meal. What a relief!
